Kierra Mae was born at 4:20am at the American Fork Hospital. She came about 4 weeks early. She weighed in at 6 lbs, 1 oz, and is 17.5 inches in length.
Julie had not been feeling Kierra move much during the day on Friday and she decided that we had better go have her monitored to make sure everything was okay. During the monitoring they noticed that Kierra's heartrate was dropping at the end of the contractions instead of with the contractions as is normal. So initially they keep pushing how long they wanted to monitor, longer and longer. Finally they decided that just the signs were showing a little placenta distress and thought it would be better for her to be induced.
The doctor came in and broke the water at 10:45pm. At 12:15 they decided to add pitocin to speed up the labor. And Julie had the epidural before they started the pitocin. Julie got to 10 at around 4am, and then we had to wait for the doctor to show up until around 4:15am. We were the doctor's 8th baby he delivered that night. Julie began pushing at 4:15, she made it pushing through two contractions, and five minutes later Kierra Mae was born. She looks like she has blonde hair like her big sister Janika. She is adorable and we are grateful and blessed to have her in our lives.
